Twinmotion allows architectural, construction, urban planning, and landscaping companies to produce high-quality images, panoramas, and standard or 360° VR videos in seconds.

TwinMotion 2022.3

Discover the power of real-time visualization

Lumen real-time GI
The wait is over! Unreal Engine 5’s groundbreaking dynamic global illumination and reflections system is now available in Twinmotion. With Lumen, indirect lighting adapts on the fly to changes to direct lighting or geometry—for example, changing the sun’s angle with the time of day or opening an exterior door—bringing new levels of realism to real-time applications.

Animated file import
Early Access
Ready to liven things up? You can now import animated FBX, glTF, and GLB files into Twinmotion to create more advanced, bespoke, and believable experiences. The feature includes support for both static mesh and skeletal mesh animation, and offers the ability to loop clips, delay their start, and trim in and out points.

More realistic rendering

Enhanced weather particles
A little precipitation can bring a lot of credibility to your visualizations. We’ve refactored the rain and snow particle effects to improve their visual fidelity, including the way accumulated rain appears on various surfaces, and how water droplets splash off puddles.

Path-traced transparency for water materials
Come on in, the water’s lovely! Path tracer now correctly renders transparency for water materials, so you can more accurately depict items like lakes, swimming pools, ponds, and other water features.

Local exposure
Sometimes, your Exposure setting has to be a compromise between very dark and very bright areas. Local exposure works on top of that, mimicking the way your eyes adjust to different lighting conditions and preserving highlight and shadow details in scenes with high dynamic ranges.

Adobe Substance 3D material support
Access the wealth of Adobe Substance 3D parametric materials out there, with the new ability to import SBSAR files and store them in the Twinmotion library. All exposed parameters are available to edit in the Twinmotion Properties panel, with textures generated on the fly when tweaks are made.

Enhanced scene authoring

Paint and scatter more asset types
Dress your scene in record time, with the new ability to paint and scatter Sketchfab, Quixel, User Library, and most of the Twinmotion library assets. Previously, this was limited to just the vegetation section of the Twinmotion library.

Media preview
Need to position shadow-casting objects or lights that are not in the camera frame of your final media? We’ve added the ability to preview that media camera view, while editing the scene in a second, live view, so you can see what you’re doing!

White studio template for automotive
Kickstart your automotive visualization projects with a new White studio template. Like the other templates, it contains a number of predefined shots; simply replace the stock asset with your model and you’re ready to go!

WebVR support for Panorama Sets
New WebVR support for Panorama Sets uploaded to Twinmotion Cloud enables your stakeholders anywhere in the world to launch and navigate them with full immersion from tethered or untethered VR headsets.

Optimized glass material
It’s great to have all the bells and whistles you can think of on your glass materials, but when you just want simple clear glass, they can slow down your renders. That’s why there’s a new optimized material for basic clear glass.

Keep hierarchy on Sketchfab import
Frustrated with not being able to select, edit, animate, kitbash, and delete parts of Sketchfab assets? Good news! You can now import them in a non-collapsed mode, organized within a root folder.

Twinmotion System Requirements

Minimum and High-end Requirements

Depending on the size of the projects you plan on creating in Twinmotion, we recommend following either the minimum or high-end requirements.

Minimum Requirements

Recommended for small to average sized projects that contain less than 1 GB of geometry and data.

  • Suitable for:
    • Creating Local and Cloud presentations
    • Exporting videos in 2K Full HD (1920 x 1080)
    • Exporting images up to 4K UHD (3840 x 2160)
  • Not suitable for:
    • Using Twinmotion in Virtual Reality (VR) mode
    • Exporting videos in 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) or higher
    • Exporting videos in 360° or 360° 3D panoramic mode
    • Using the Path tracer (refer to Path Tracer Requirements)

High-end Requirements

Recommended for large projects that contain more than 1 GB of geometry and data, such as scenes that contain large buildings, cities, or large landscapes.

  • Suitable for all high-end requirements, such as:
    • Using Twinmotion in VR mode
    • Creating Local and Cloud presentations
    • Exporting videos up to 8K (8102 x 4096) in 360° and 360° 3D mode
    • Exporting videos up to 64K (61440 x 61440) in Standard and 3D mode
    • Exporting images up to 64K (61440 x 61440)
    • Using the Path tracer
